Center of Excellence in Women’s Health
Obtains Funds

The designation of the Women’s and Health Center of the University of Puerto Rico Medical Sciences Campus as a Center of Excellence in Women’s Health was extended for an additional funding year (October 2000-September, 2001). Total funding awarded was $252,599. The continuation of this designation recognizes the commitment of the UPR Medical Sciences Campus to women’s health. The Center is one of eighteen model centers funded by the Public Health Office on Women’s Health to provide integrated and comprehensive women’s health services. The University of Puerto Rico Center of Excellence is one of the third generation centers emphasizing minority women’s health.
