RESEARCH AGENDA

 

Goals and Objectives

    The overall goal of our research agenda is to strengthen and enhance research efforts related to diseases and conditions that affect women in Puerto Rico. To achieve this goal we have identified the following objectives: 

 Identify diseases, disorders, and conditions that are unique to, more prevalent among, or far more serious in Puerto Rican women.

 

Develop a multidisciplinary research program targeted to women’s health.

 

Establish a seminar/workshop series in women’s health.

 

Develop a web page that will disseminating research information, available resources and other data pertaining to women’s health.

 

Identify and disseminate sources of funding available for conducting research on women’s health.

 

Encourage the participation of women as subjects in research studies and assess what motivates and/or impedes their participation in clinical trials.

 

Enhance the participation of young investigators and graduate students in women’s research through mentoring programs and collaborative studies.

 

Encourage research collaborations between industry, government and the university.
